Translink -- Be Part of the Plan

In answer to the ads on radio here in the lower mainland for the Be Part Of The Plan portal into Translink, the local bus and transport authority, I have joined up there and begun posting. I confess my first couple of posts have bordered on rants: the off-loading that governments did in the 80s and 90s still rankles. And in part, I think this site is an attempt at manufacturing consent for untenable ideas. Still, if there's a chance to be heard, I'll jump at it.

I confess. This site does look like it allows comments, but it also looks like a lot of well packaged ideas... (meaning perhaps they were packaged before the public was granted access to the site). I don't want to just think like a cynic, but my past experience with transit planners is that the "community forums" are not typically to invite public ideas, criticism and involvement. But rather to sell the public on what planners have already done behind closed doors. Do you have some clarity on this?
